    I am not very sure on how to find a balanced, not too overwhelming but also not a risky numer of universities to apply to in one cycle...

    The university application fee is now non-negligible. l having said that some universities have waivers, so you should be looking for those, even if they're not explicitly stated on their websites. You should be targeting 10-12 universities, at maximum. These should include your desired programs, high-risk ones, and some safe universities.

    When you’re considering interdisciplinary programs you need to ask yourself if you enjoy this combination. A good way to get an answer to this is to take some courses from humanities and social sciences, such as economics and psychology, and other schools, to get a better idea of what you enjoy.
